After completing my first year of resistance training, I decided to create this website to share what I’ve learned and help answer the common questions I had as a beginner.

Ultimately I will give you the tools I use and a road map for your first year of resistance training.

I think anyone who has the ability to lift a weight off the ground will benefit from what I'm about to share with you.

I'm 45 years old and have seen some impressive gains in strength, my physique has changed enough my wife enjoys rubbing my arms and chest a lot more often.

In all seriousness the hard truth is I was morbidly obese 305 at 6’1″. Type 2 uncontrolled diabetes and battle with life long bad food habits. Long story short DR put on Manjaro the fat was melting off me. I got down to 250 with diet and exercise. Once I seen the potential of actually seeing results. That’s when I recognized the benefits and started my fitness journey January 1 2024. 

I bought a pair of 15lb  dumbbells, used them until I needed to upgrade my equipment. The idea behind my1yearfitnessplan.com is my way of giving back what I learned in my first year of weight training. I had a lot of questions and a year later I have answers for some of them.
